Hayley Cook

Hayley Cook is Head of Operations at Headway Kent.

She brings extensive experience of working alongside brain injury survivors and their families, having worked within the Headway network for 20 years. Throughout her career, Hayley has developed a strong understanding of the realities of living with brain injury and the often significant and long-term impact it can have on individuals, their families and wider support networks.

Her experience provides a practical, person-centred perspective on the challenges faced by people affected by brain injury — from the sudden changes that can follow an injury, through to the ongoing process of rehabilitation, adjustment and rebuilding life. She understands the importance of recognising not only the medical and neurological effects of brain injury, but also the very real impact on relationships, independence, employment, identity and day-to-day life. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that the voices and experiences of survivors and their families are reflected in the development of services and support.

In addition to her work with KBIF and Headway Kent, Hayley sits on the board of the South East London, Kent and Medway Trauma Network as a patient representative, bringing the experience and perspectives of those affected by brain injury into discussions about trauma care and rehabilitation.
